Vintage French Grape Harvest Basket

Superb Vintage French Harvest Basket, Hod, grape gathering metal basket, with original leather straps. Exceptional size and personality with a beautiful aged exterior zinc with hand forged bands plus an unusual Merlot colored interior.

So unusual to find a Hod ( grape gathering basket) with its original straps… and this fluted shape is also getting impossible to find.

These have not been used in the fields in the French vineyards since the 1940’s and are true collectors pieces making a statement sitting on the floor or hung on the wall. Amazing full of florals, white towels or kindling for the fire. We love them and wish we had more!
